Update on Heart Cath
Taylor had his cath this past Thursday. The pressures they measured were normal but high normal. His heart and lungs are functioning fine now but they are afraid there could be issues as he gets older so they are recommending that he have heart surgery. They will meet as a group next Thursday to discuss when they will recommend he have it done. After a heart cath you have to lay flat and not bend your legs for 4-6 hours, so as you can imagine Taylor didn't enjoy that. He is more comfortable on his stomach so that was hard for him. Anyway, we were doing so good that they had decided that at about 5pm they would go ahead and let us go home. So at about 4pm Taylor suddenly threw up all he had drank since the cath and then the nurse came in and pulled back the blanket and his right leg was bright, bright red in color and the left was still normal color. So they checked the site of the cath and it was swollen and had a little hematoma (blood clot) under the site. So obviously they decided to keep us for the night. I am thankful all of that did not happen in the car. It was definitely good timing it happened at the hospital. Taylor stayed nauseated for a while and really fussy but overall he slept really well that night. Hunter came to spend the night Friday night and is watching movies with him as I type. So we will update when we find out more. Please keep us in your prayers. BTW, Vanderbilt Children's Hospital was great. We had a great experience with everything and the hospital and patient rooms are very nice.
