My studious son and mini landscape makeover!

When we purchased our home almost 2 years ago it had been empty for atleast a year and it was in desperate need of a makeover. It took us 4 months to do the inside and basically it was like a new home inside once we were finished. Last spring we had a landscaper come to do the front of the house but not the side and back. So this spring we decided to finish what we started and we were pleasantly surprised that they came today and 5 hours later we got to see a beautiful transformation. I will put a before and after picture for your viewing pleasure. I was trying to get Taylor to smile in the "after" picture but all he wanted to do was mock me and pretend like he was taking my picture...just in case you were wondering.

Also I attached a cute picture of Taylor wearing Mr. Potato Head glasses. He is too funny. To view any picture larger just click on it.

A visit from Taylor's foster brother!!!

We are sooooo excited. Today we had a visit from Katie, Randy and Lee. Lee was in the same foster family as Taylor, shared the same bed and were adopted on the same day. We also used the same adoption agency (www.hfsadopt.org). So obviously we got to spend time with this family in China and were just so excited when they emailed us that they were traveling and could come by. We had a great visit, it was amazing at how much Lee has grown in only 4 months. We got to compare their English development, and sleeping habits. It was just a great visit!!

New date for cath

Vanderbilt called this morning and we have a new date for Taylor's cath. It will be May 3rd and he will be first of the day. So we will get there at 7am and they will take him back at 8am. That will work only a million times better. I just don't see how we could have not given him food til 1pm. This kid wakes up and immediately wants breakfast!! And then he snacks in between breakfast and lunch and lunch is at about 11 or 11:30. So we know things happen for a reason. Taylor has had a cruddy nose this week, and the doctor originally scheduled to do his cath wouldn't have been available if we were to have done it tomorrow, they had a different doctor that would've had to do it. We have prayed that God watch over us and I know that is exactly what He is doing!

Cath Rescheduled

Today I was at work and received a call from our doctors office confirming our appt for the cath for Thursday. During the conversation she stated that the doctor did not need to see us for pre cath stuff on Wednesday that we could actually do it on Thursday morning before the cath. I said that would be great. She said for us to come in on Thursday at 11am. And I said 11:00, we were told Taylor will be 3rd and that meant he would go back at about 8:30am. And she said that info was not correct that 3rd means he will not be called back until between 12 and 1pm. Needless to say I was very frustrated with this misinformation we were given but we decided to cancel for Thursday, because we would have to withhold food until after the cath. And since we weren't going to be called back til 12 or 1pm there was just no way we could do that to Taylor so she was supposed to call me back this afternoon with the next date where we could be 1st, and she didn't call, so I am expecting a call first thing tomorrow. I would have never even scheduled Taylor for 3rd of the day if we had been given the correct info about time, but at this point we just reschedule and wait a few extra weeks and it just feels like maybe it wasn't meant to be this week. He has a little head cold and with the extra time hopefully he will be over that. The hardest part is the not knowing if we are facing heart surgery. So we are frustrated but probably mainly because we just want to know...you know!!

Easter egg hunt

Sunday afternoon we did the Easter egg hunt at the hospital and then went to my sisters house where Taylor's cousins, Trey and Hunter taught him all about water guns! Enjoy the pics!

Easter...a week early

We decided to do the traditional Easter fun this weekend instead of next, because I have to work next weekend. So last night we went to Wal-mart and picked Taylor out a new set of wheels and a basket and goodies. This morning we had his basket sitting right outside his bedroom door with a trail of eggs leading down the hall through the kitchen and den and out the sliding glass door. This trail led him to his surprise... his own set of wheels. He loves loves loves cars, he goes around making car noises allllll the time, wants to watch the video Cars alllll the time...get my point. So we got him a truck. It's a little scary cause he doesn't really know how to drive but I'm sure he will learn very quickly. Later today the hospital where I work is having a egg hunt and visit from the Easter Bunny himself, so we are going to go to that too. Hoping for some cute pics with the Bunny!!

Today at church I almost lost it and it's one of those 'had to be there' kind of things but when Taylor sings, he doesn't really use words, at least not any you can understand but he sings very loudly. So he got his book and opened it and held it up like a song book and sang very loudly through several songs and I just got so tickled. Maybe because it was a place and time I really wasn't supposed to be laughing out loud, but I really about lost it!!

We did our first professional pictures yesterday and I am so hoping they turn out. Getting pictures made with a toddler is work!!
